This will influence <strong>the harness to choose, since it must have a ring or attachment point on the front<\/strong> (sternal ring) in order to climb up and down safely.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sewer With Tripod Access<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If we are going to work in a confined space such as a sewer system and our only means of access is a tripod, we must take this into account when choosing our harness:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How we will proceed if we need to be rescued<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where we will attach the self-retracting lifeline and where the tripod winch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whether inside the sewer we need to anchor to something<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this type of work, the ideal is to have <strong>a safety harness with two anchor rings plus a third rescue ring<\/strong>, since if an evacuation is needed this third ring would make the task easier.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Area With a Lifeline<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Continuing with examples we may encounter when working at height, one of the most common is working with <a href=\"https:\/\/ypsossafety.com\/linea-de-vida-horizontal\/\">horizontal lifelines<\/a> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/ypsossafety.com\/linea-de-vida-temporal\/\">temporary<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ypsossafety.com\/linea-de-vida-permanente\/\">permanent<\/a>, rigid or flexible \u2013 and in these cases we need to know exactly what work will be performed:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Work facing the lifeline<\/strong>, that is, work where the worker is anchored and looking toward the line, the most suitable option is <strong>a fall arrest harness with a front or sternal ring<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Work with your back to the lifeline, <\/strong>when the worker is facing away from the line while performing the task, it is best to be connected to the system at the back, and so <strong>the harness must have a ring on the dorsal side<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rope Access Work on Facades<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this case, choosing the harness is quite simple, since there are <strong>safety harnesses specific for rope access and work positioning<\/strong>, with the corresponding rings and a belt so that the worker can remain suspended more comfortably while performing the task.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other Aspects to Consider Before Choosing a Harness<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to choosing the harness according to the safety system, there are other key factors that will affect its effectiveness and durability.
